A noble headed French hound, the Grand Bleu de Gascogne is black marked on a white coat, which is mottled with black to make it appear to be blue. It has low-set ears curling inwards which must reach the end of the nose, a long oval shaped foot and these features as well as its distinctive colour are breed features. They have a gentle and kind temperament, a keen sense of smell, and a deep bay. The coat is strong, smooth, weather resistant, but should not be too short. Being a member of the Hound group, it needs lots of exercise, and is a country loving dog. |
