A German Spitz is compact with an almost square outline and broad skull.
It is happy and confident, and almost never nervous or aggressive.
They are cute, but may be not too easy to train.
At home they make an ideal watchdog and family pet,are usually devoted to the family, but not necessarily recommended for very young children.
The soft-woolly undercoat and harsh coat need proper grooming especially when moulting.
The coat is especially abundant around the neck and forequarters.
The tail is curled on top of the back.
Exercise is not too demanding.
There are 3 types of German Spitz - toy, standard and giant. All are similar except for the size.
