The Affepinscher dog (nicknamed the Monkey Dog)is a member of the Toy group, and is as playful and as active as the monkey name implies.
They are easily taught and are prepared to take as much or as little exercise as you wish to give them, preferring to accompany their owners everywhere rather than be left behind. They are large enough to tackle country walks with enthusiasm, yet small enough to be tucked under an arm if necessary.
Most British Affenpinschers are undocked, the natural tail being carried in a curve up over the back. Their dark sparkling eyes and prominent chins are framed by a beard, moustache and topknot of wiry black hair.
The coat on the rest of the body is shorter and rough in texture, needing little care except brushing.
These dogs thrive on human companionship and make loving and loyal friends.
