|The Komondor is a rare breed, and it must be strongly emphasised that the Komondor is not a breed for everyone, being a rather large and strong willed animal with a strong, sharp guarding instinct.
It is nevertheless a faithful and devoted dog.
They have a striking but unusual appearance when the white coat is fully corded.
They have a long coarse outer coat, which may be wavy or curly, with softer undercoat. The hair tends to cling together like tassels, giving the corded appearance.
If neglected, mats and tangles easily form.
Trained properly, the Komondor will become a house pet but they are rather boisterous.
Normally very fond of children and will play with them for hours.
Firm handling and insistence on obedience is a must.
Exercise needs are moderate.
They are a member of the Pastoral group.
